Why Second?
Second was born out of those moments when I just needed a pause—a second to sip my (hopefully warm) coffee, to breathe, to laugh, or even cry. My goal is to create that space for you too, through small moments of connection, encouragement, and a reminder that you’re never alone in this motherhood journey.
My personal motherhood journey began in 2021 (TW: miscarriage, ectopic). It was fleeting, heartwarming, and heartbreaking all at once. Around 5-6 weeks along, my husband and I discovered it was an ectopic pregnancy. What followed, the doctor’s appointments, shots, tests, was traumatic. I felt like a ghost, watching myself go through the motions, unsure when I’d feel like myself again.
Eventually, I did. In 2024, I got pregnant with my precious daughter. We were living in a new city and state, excited to grow our family. It was everything I had been manifesting. But even in this joyful journey, there were pockets of loneliness. Motherhood can feel so isolating because we often keep our thoughts to ourselves, put others first, and wonder if it’s “okay” to feel the way we do.
This is what encouraged me to create Second. Although there will still be moments of loneliness, I hope this becomes a space where you can feel just a little less alone.
I’d love to hear about you! What’s been your “second” lately—a moment you’ve savored, needed, or even wished for? Hit reply and let me know, I can’t wait to connect with you.
You’re doing an amazing job, even if it doesn’t feel like it some days. I hope Second becomes a bright spot for you, a reminder to take those little pauses and savor those fleeting moments.
Cheers,
Ari
